Share your expertise and become a My Pickle CIC Non-Executive Director.

My Pickle CIC is a not-for-profit organisation with a vision for a world where no-one struggles alone or is left behind, regardless of their situation or life circumstances. This involves increasing awareness and improving accessibility and availability of support.
My Pickle’s medium-term aims are to help individuals in the UK facing big life challenges to:
-
– Solve, or better manage, the issues they face.
-
– Improve resilience and confidence when dealing with big life issues.
-
– Reduce isolation and provide encouragement to overcome their life issues.
The key offering is a free, public directory of trusted support resources, e.g. external helplines, that are available nationally. Other activities e.g. content creation to achieve these latter aims are also being explored (currently My Pickle publishes visitor stories).
Since 2019, with the input from hundreds of volunteers across the UK, there are over 1,750 resources that have been crowdsourced, vetted and added to the website. These external resources cover a range of topics such as health and money and are provided by private, public, grassroots and third sector organisations.
In addition, organic web traffic has grown to thousands of new monthly users, My Pickle has been recognised in NatWest’s SE100 ‘Top 25 Trailblazing Newcomer’ and Founder Cat Divers identified as a finalist in the UK Social Entrepreneur Index.
The Role
As an early stage social enterprise, this role offers an exciting opportunity to progress this initiative by helping to grow social impact and become sustainable.
-
– Growing social impact will involve developing cost-effective strategies to drive traffic and exploring complimentary or alternative routes to achieve the aims set out above.
-
– Becoming sustainable involves exploring grant funding and similar initiatives to cover immediate and near-term operating and business development costs.
-
– Creating and implementing commercial propositions is key to long term sustainability e.g. developing strategic partnerships in the employee wellbeing or social care markets.
Diversity helps My Pickle CIC build a welcoming and inclusive environment and proposition. Applications from candidates from minority ethnic, religious, or cultural backgrounds, with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ candidates are encouraged.
